The great Cincinnati neighborhood of South Fairmount looks like an urban/rural hybrid. It has some industry, some woods, and some of the same terrain issues that define the rest of the area. A 2011 plan to stop raw sewage from flowing into Mill Creek would have unearthed Lick Run Creek, but many residents opposed this because it would have demolished homes. By 2015, this project was scaled back, and government leaders said a costly pump would be needed to keep the creek flowing. Of course, the houses were still slated for demolition.
