PART 5
West on brick-paved 7th from NY 60 (Main Street) in Jamestown, N.Y.
NY 60 again. Notice the speed limit sign says CITY SPEED LIMIT.
NY 60 uses Washington Street here and crosses the Chadakoin River.
Ready for some laughs? Laughs that actually aren't at the expense of the People's CDC or the Tea Party? The building at right is the National Comedy Center, a great museum dedicated to comedy. This museum has some interactive exhibits that let you draw your own comic or make your own meme. But I don't know why their calendar said it was August when it was May. The bridge ahead is the Washington Street span.
East on 2nd.
Second at Main.
Main goes south under a rail bridge and then over the Chadakoin.
North on Main.
Another brick road: Regent Street.
Irvine Place is yet another brick road.
On I-86, abandoned ramp at right is for a rest area that was long, long, long gone.
Tangle of ramps near Bemus Point.
Chautauqua Lake from I-86. This natural lake is not in any town (minor civil division), unlike almost all of the rest of the state, which is in a town or city.
Leaving New York for the rest of the trip, as I-86 enters Pennsylvania!
The end of I-86 as we merge into I-90! In the background is Lake Erie. When I was growing up, I had a book that had a photo of kids playing in Lake Erie, with a caption saying how polluted it was. It also had a photo of a swimmer floating in the Great Salt Lake, also with a caption about the lake's pollution.
This construction obstacle course on I-90 had these orange signs with numbers that weren't in any order whatsoever.
Another sign for out-of-order numbers.
A video of I-90 entering Ohio! Wow, bet you've never been there!
This OH 306 shield is in an advaced stage of funniness.
A big curve as I-90 picks up OH 2 east of Cleveland.
A funny billboard as we head into Cleveland. I don't even know what it's for. It doesn't have any words and just shows the top part of a guy's scowling face.
Last I was in Cleveland was my amazing 2015 trip.
It's...Cleveland!
