PART 7

I think this is Dunes Drive at White Sands National Park.

The park is known for its gypsum sand dunes.

A view from the Playa Trail.

The trail lets us see this barren lakebed. The lakebed is sometimes full of water.

There's no wa!

I think this is still at the playa. And it was hot that day! The sun bounced off the sand like there was no tomorrow.

The road continues through the sand.

More sand! The world actually doesn't have as much sand as people think. In 2020, cities filled skate parks with sand to keep people from using them, but that just wastes it. Those cities got their comeuppance when folks began using the sand-filled parks for dirt biking instead.

Sand! Sand! Saaaaand!

The jaunt into this beautiful sand continues!

More sand!

This sign advertises a boardwalk. But it's not like Ocean City, Md., where the woman smiled.

Some of the park's famous sand dunes.

The pavement ends and is replaced with...sand!

The sand road continues.

Sand, sand, sand, whatcha gonna do about sand? You're gonna have to live without sand...

The next few photos are entirely of the sand road. I notice on the map that there's something called the West Filming Area. Despite what it sounds like, that's not where the Gum Fighter filmed his Hubba Bubba ads.

Since this is all sand, I'll just leave the rest of this part without captions.
