PART 5

McKeesport continues its dominance. This is Ravine at Evans.

East on Stewart from Evans.

North on Soles. I'm not sure why there's metal chairs in the road. Maybe they still have schools (unlike us).

East on Oak. In the background, some staircases fill a gap in Oak.

South on Packer.

North on Packer.

West on Versailles.

North on Soles at Versailles.

North on Evans.

Continuing on Evans. Despite all of McKeesport's rulingness, at the end of the day, it's still influenced by the chattering elites who have enveloped all of America's major population centers, so it can't be perfect. You can see a building and parking garage for University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Gliding down Evans past the parking garage and hosp.

East on PA 148. The road has a very elaborate interchange with the McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge. Duquesne is pronounced "doo-kayn." I know some joker is going to call it "doo-kwez-nee", but I'm not the pronunciation police.

PA 148 rounds a curve and goes under a ramp for the bridge.

Remember when Highland Heights had a Quarry Street? PA 148 goes under another ramp for the bridge up ahead.

Under the aforementioned ramp. PA 148 is 5th Avenue here.

PA 148 at Hartman.

PA 148 grazes the town of White Oak as we leave McKeesport. But don't worry, we're coming back for more McKeeing later!

PA 148 in North Versailles Township.

PA 148 enters East McKeesport.

PA 148 at US 30 in East McKeesport.

US 30 at Broadway in East McKeesport.

US 30 goes under a ramp from Greensburg Pike. That setup had been around since at least the 1950s.

US 30 uses the George Westinghouse Memorial Bridge to cross Turtle Creek to East Pittsburgh. This bears a vague resemblance to some of Cincinnati's Mill Creek viaducts. Construction of the bridge lasted from 1929-32.

I think this is still US 30 in East Pittsburgh.
